Bahia Denim, named after a Brazilian blue marble, is a material characterised by its visual illusion to marble. It is designed using production waste from the fashion industry. These textile offcuts are layered, adhered and carved to create intricate patterns. The non-standardised nature of the waste – the variation in size, shade, colour and texture – make each design unique.
The material is developed by hand, which allows for endless (customised) colour combinations and one of a kind designs. Being lightweight yet durable, it allows for a diverse application of the material in furniture, wall paneling or surfaces for interiors.
