Developed in Japan by a team of researchers, the brand Fabula has transformed food waste into cement. Its up to 4 times stronger than normal cement and resistant to rot and insects. So far they have created cement from orange, banana, cabbage, seaweed, tealeaves and coffee grounds.
The steps are straight forward, to start the food waste is dried, then processed into powder, and finally pressed into a heat mould. Fabula is unique because for the first time, they have been able to bind the food waste without plastic and therefore it is 100% natural.
By reducing the amount of food sent to landfill, Fabula is helping to combat climate change.
