FLOCKS Wobot is a new industrial wool production technique developed by Dutch designer Christien Meinderstma. The process involves using a specialised cobot (collaborative robot) to weave layers of wool together, layer-by layer, without the need of any other material or water. The project aims to replace sustainably harmful materials such as foam rubber, glass wool, stone wool and polystyrene foam and find a use for the 1.5 million kg of wool that is thrown to landfill each year in the Netherlands alone.
