Hemp It Yourself by Hannah Segerkrantz is an exploration using ‘hempcrete’ at a small scale in furniture. Hempcrete is made of hemp (which absorbs carbon dioxide) and lime. The material is used widely in sustainable building and is as strong as concrete and as flexible as clay. The collection of furniture pieces are made by pouring hempcrete into six modules to create stools and tables in varying heights and sizes.
The project aims to encourage conversation and usage of natural and sustainable materials in product design.
