Sunflower Enterprise by Studio Thomas Vailly explores creating new materials from the by-products of sunflower crops. Sunflowers are commonly farmed to produce oil, seeds or bio-fuel. In a typical farm, once the oil is pressed out of the flower the remaining crop becomes agricultural waste. Sunflower Enterprise turns this waste into a valuable resource to produce new bio-materials. So far they have created bolts, insulation panels, and even a smartphone case, proving the possibilities are vast.
