Japanese designer Yuma Kano has created a range of furniture from waste wood. Kano collected wood chips, bark, soil and any other loose foliage which was then mixed in with a water-based acrylic resin. The material created looks like terrazzo with varied textures and tones that resemble the season. For example, when the collected foliage changes from vibrant tones to more subdued during the cooler months, so too does the colour of the furniture. Kano aims to showcase the potential in wood that may have otherwise gone to waste.
