Celebrating ten years marked a time for Elk to open their first flagship store in Little Collins Street, Melbourne.
A conceptual approach was taken to product display. The anodised aluminium framework that wraps up the walls, across the ceiling and back down into hanging rails gives clarity to the space. Other finishes are tactile – grey polished plaster, rough chocolate brown floorboards and the open-seamed, leather-wrapped wall. The central display units are made from Corian and stained oak. Daniel Barbera’s brass stands and Henry Wilson’s Surface Sconce provided an opportunity to support local designers.
