Mater Design has recently released Eternity Collection. A series of chairs made from upcycled materials. The Eternity Chair (featured in images below) is made of Matek, which is a unique circular waste material.
To create furniture from Matek, fiber such as coffee beans and sawdust are combined with a binders like plastic waste. The mixture of materials results in a unique compound suitable for press moulding, which ultimately forms the soft shell seat and backrest for each furniture piece.
The furniture range is also designed for disassembly, which means each component can be upcycled into new products.
