Studio Sakeb has produced Kabes Stool from industrial waste produced from their local stone and marble industry in Palestine. More often than not, stone slurry waste is disposed of into agricultural land and sewage networks leading to soil contamination and drainage problems. The team at Studio Sakeb has collected this industrial dust waste and combined it with natural binders to create a mixture similar to rammed earth. To create Kabes Stool, four recycled PVC pipes were used for leg moulds which were then joined together through a cast seat. After the mixture dry’s it hardens to form an extremely sturdy seat.
