Over the past six months, our team has been collaborating with Kengo Kuma Architects on a landmark residential project in Dubai. As the lead ID team on the project, we are excited to have our first significant project in the Middle East.
Awarded Architect of the Year by Architectural Digest, Kengo Kuma’s work celebrates architecture as part of nature, not separate from it.Rising from the desert terrain, Kengo has designed the architectural form to move with the cadence of the sand dunes in Dubai.Working alongside Kengo’s team, our approach follows this lineage, shaping spaces through material depth, filtered light, and a sensitivity to the natural rhythms of the region.
“Wedyan is a dialogue between Japanese aesthetics and the context of Dubai. In this project, our purpose is to bring softness to the design and to create quietness through shadows that cascade and reflect across the façade, terraces and amenity spaces.”
